After another successful programming season, the Maryland LGBT Chamber of Commerce celebrated an incredibly successful year concluding with our inaugural Champions Awards event on April 25th. With over 150 Members, along with the selection as the Rising Star Chamber at the NGLCC National Conference, the Chamber of Commerce has solidified itself as a leading advocate for LGBT-owned and operated business within the state of Maryland and the surrounding region. In continuing to further the mission and vision of the organization, the slate of officers for the 2019-2020 term has been selected:

  • President: Tom Koerber
  • Vice President: T erri Hett
  • Treasurer: Keith Snyder
  • Secretary: April Rancier
  • Members-at-Large: Carlton Smith, Darlene Niccoli, Gavriel Legynd, Nancy McDonald, RickyAdams, Wil Graham, and Winnie Hull
  • Immediate Past President: Joan Cox

After serving as Vice President for the previous year, Tom Koerber has been elected as the incoming President, and is looking forward to helping grow the organization throughout the state, especially in the greater metropolitan areas such as Howard, Anne Arundel, and Montgomery counties. As a chartering member, he oversees the website and all things tech-related. Besides helping run the Maryland LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Tom manages his own IT firm, On Point Help, focused on small and medium-sized businesses in the region.

To help further the organization’s expansion and programming capabilities, the former Treasurer, Terri Hett, has stepped into the role as Vice President. With her fundraising and sponsorship involvement, she aims to continue the growth of the organization, which will allow the Chamber to hire an Executive Director during the third year of operation. In addition to her role as Vice President, Terri is a member of New York Life, focusing on retirement, investments, life insurance, and long-term care.

Going into the third year of programming, the board is looking forward to serving the Chamber’s membership through our various networking and educational events, and to continuing our partnership with other organizations in the region. As we continue to grow, we welcome you to join us on our journey to educate, advocate, and empower LGBT-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.
